Laminin
Ephesians 2:10 (NLT) declares that we are God's masterpiece. That means that he created each one of us with care and precision that makes us unique and precious. According to Psalm 139, Creator God knit us together in our mother's womb and knows everything about us. God must love us a great deal to make us in such a way!
How can you know that is true?
Recent microbiological studies have given some pretty amazing evidence that God is a master artist of life. By looking deeper into the human body scientists discovered a protein molecule called laminin. In short, laminin is a cell-adhesion molecule that in essence is the glue that holds the membranes and cells of our bodies together. That doesn't mean so much to most of us, until we see the scientific diagram of a laminin molecule.
The cell-adhesion molecule that holds our bodies
together resembles the cross of Christ - God's
instrument of redemption and forgiveness.
Colossians 1:15-17 makes this image of Christ
even more awesome to ponder:
"He is the image of the invisible God, the
firstborn over all creation. For by him all things
were created: things in heaven and on earth,
visible and invisible...all things were created
by him and for him. He is before all things, and
in him all things hold together."
(epmphasis added)
No matter how messed up you think your life is.
No matter what you have in your past or your
present, God loves you because he created you.
And his greatest desire is that you know His
Son, Jesus Christ.
Romans 5:8 says "God demonstrates his own
love for us in this: While we were still sinners,
Christ died for us." Christ's death on the cross
was God's way of offering us (imperfect and
unworthy humans) the gift of forgiveness and
grace. We can receive that gift by placing our faith in Christ. Romans 10:9-10 says: "if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved."
Our greatest desire for you is that you would know and experience the grace and forgiveness of a loving God by receiving Christ as your Savior. If you have questions about Christ or would like to talk to a minister about receiving forgivness, please come by the BSM or call 254-965-4179.
